Senior/Inter level Electrical QS

Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Because numbers matter. And so does knowing what you’re doing.
Let’s cut to it.
If you’re a Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership, shaping outcomes, and seeing a project through from tender to final account, this one’s for you.

You’ll sit at the heart of the commercial function, working closely with project teams to make sure the numbers stack up, the risks are managed, and the project finishes where it should — commercially sound and professionally delivered.

No babysitting. No box-ticking QS role. Just proper, end‑to‑end commercial responsibility.

The Role (a.k.a. what you’ll actually be doing)

You’ll be responsible for the commercial performance of electrical packages across live projects, including:
  • Full cradle-to-grave commercial delivery — from tender stage through to final accounts
  • Preparing and managing budgets, BOQs, profit plans and cost reports
  • Running interim commercial meetings with clients and internal stakeholders (clear communication required — mind reading not included)
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payment certificates, retentions and final accounts
  • Issuing monthly applications that are accurate, detailed and defensible (remeasures, variations, dayworks, claims — the lot)
  • Identifying commercial risks early and escalating them before they become expensive surprises
  • Working closely with Planning to ensure progress and cost reporting actually align
  • Costing and agreeing site changes and dayworks without drama
  • Maintaining robust commercial records — because “I’m sure it’s right” doesn’t work at final account stage
  • Negotiating with clients and representatives where needed — professionally, firmly, fairly
  • Operating with speed, accuracy and independence (micromanagement is not part of the deal)
You’ll also be expected to uphold information security standards and act as a positive, committed member of the commercial team — enthusiasm and professionalism still matter.

What You’ll Bring

You’re not new to this. You’ll already have:
  • Strong experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor, operating at senior level
  • A solid understanding of electrical contracts and commercial risk
  • Confidence managing subcontractors, clients and internal stakeholders
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise effectively and make sound decisions
  • A practical grasp of programme, progress and their commercial implications
  • An eye for detail — and the confidence to challenge when something doesn’t add up
In short: you know what good looks like, and you deliver it.

Why This Role?

Because this is a proper senior QS position:
  • Real ownership
  • Real influence
  • Real commercial responsibility
You’ll be trusted to run your work, supported by a strong commercial structure, and valued for the expertise you bring — not just the spreadsheets you produce.

If you’re a Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor who wants clarity, autonomy and meaningful work (with a company that actually understands commercial delivery), this role deserves your attention.
