QC Turnover Lead – Mission Critical Projects
Location – Milan
Because “good enough” isn’t good enough for a data centre.
Some people build things.
You make sure they’re built right.
If your strengths lie in orchestrating test packs, interpreting P&IDs and ensuring flawless weld traceability, this opportunity will feel like the perfect fit.
What You’ll Be Doing (aka: where you get to save the day repeatedly) In this role, you’re not just ticking boxes on checklists. You’re leading by example — driving a quality culture that shows up on time, puts the PPE on without being asked, respects every stakeholder in the room, and takes pride in delivering world‑class engineering “right first time.”
You’ll:
- Set the benchmark for ethics, EHS, teamwork, and quality behaviours (yes, people will actually copy you).
- Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, EHS, Supply Chain, and the client — basically everyone except Payroll.
- Partner with the BIM team to keep the digital world perfectly aligned with the physical one.
- Build, maintain, and monitor ITPs, checklists, and approvals like it’s an Olympic sport.
- Manage weld traceability, logs, qualifications, heat maps, NDT reviews — all the glamorous things.
- Develop and agree test pack lists, system limits, boundaries, and content.
- Implement QR‑code tracking for equipment, because spreadsheets can only take you so far.
- Drive lessons learned (and make sure we actually learn them).
- Plan and deliver W1/W2/W3 walkdowns, third‑party walkdowns, and internal pre‑test walkdowns using schematics, SLDs and P&IDs.
- Track snags, push close‑out, and protect data integrity like a hawk.
- Review first‑of‑kind benchmarks and report progress.
- Monitor instrument & equipment calibration.
- Tag and track systems, equipment and assets (red/yellow/green — simple colours, big meaning).
- Collaborate with Cx Leads on L3–L5 commissioning schedules.
- Leverage Power BI to keep reporting real, accurate, and timely.
- Maintain standards across BIM 360 — making sure issues are categorised, assigned, and not lost in digital limbo.
- Monitor KPIs, supply chain performance, and drive action where needed.
- Promote a positive quality culture (and celebrate people who go above and beyond).
- Complete root cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
- Develop and compile BCAR, LEED, and BREEAM plans and certificates.
- And yes, any other reasonable duties that don’t require a cape.
What You Bring
- Experience in QC within large-scale industrial or data centre projects.
- A forensic eye for detail and a healthy dislike of ambiguity.
- The confidence to communicate across departments and challenge when something doesn’t smell right.
- Ability to keep multiple systems, inspections, documents, and deadlines moving simultaneously.
- A belief that quality isn’t paperwork — it’s reputation.
Why This Role Matters
Data centres aren’t just buildings anymore — they’re infrastructure for the world’s digital heartbeat. And every weld, every tag, every walkdown contributes to delivering a facility that works first time, every time.
If you want a role with enormous visibility, tangible impact, and the satisfaction of seeing your standards reflected in a project handed over with zero surprises, this is it.
