Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centre Project (Fredericia)
Location: Fredericia, Denmark
If you’re a commissioning engineer who likes being close to the systems, understands how things should work in the real world, and wants to be properly involved from pre‑commissioning through to handover — this role is for you.
We’re delivering a large, technically complex data centre project in Denmark. The programme is driven, the standards are high, and commissioning is critical. We’re looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer who can support the safe, structured and successful delivery of mechanical building services systems.
This is a hands‑on role with real exposure, working alongside experienced commissioning leadership and directly with site teams, vendors and the client.
What You’ll Do You’ll support the delivery of mechanical commissioning activities across multiple systems, ensuring everything is installed, tested and commissioned in line with project and client requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing IFC drawings, specifications and mechanical submittals
- Supporting the development and implementation of the commissioning plan
- Assisting with system boundaries, methodologies and sequencing
- Coordinating commissioning activities with package engineers, planners and vendors
- Preparing and reviewing commissioning checklists, scripts and test packs
- Witnessing and verifying commissioning and functional testing activities
- Supporting tag walks, walkdowns and system inspections
- Updating commissioning trackers, logs and progress reports
- Identifying snags, tracking close‑out and supporting handover readiness
- Assisting with preparation of O&M documentation and training materials
- Supporting client commissioning meetings when required
Quality, Compliance & Risk You’ll play a key role in maintaining commissioning quality by:
- Ensuring testing activities follow approved procedures
- Verifying compliance with specifications and client standards
- Identifying issues early and escalating risks to the commissioning lead
- Assisting with inspections, audits and client sign‑off processes
Attention to detail and a structured approach are essential.
Who This Suits This role suits a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer who:
- Has strong mechanical systems knowledge (HVAC, CHW, LTHW, ventilation, pressurisation, etc.)
- Enjoys being site‑based and actively involved in testing activities
- Understands commissioning sequencing and system interfaces
- Communicates clearly and works well with multidisciplinary teams
Data centre experience is an advantage, but solid mechanical commissioning experience and the right attitude are more important.
