Lead Electrical Estimator (HV Specialist) | Ireland

If you know how to price complex T&D projects with your eyes closed—and you’re tired of your talent going unnoticed or underused—read on.

This is not a “support the team” kind of job. This is a lead the charge, carry-the-commercial-burden kind of job. We’re talking about steering the estimation process for multimillion-euro tenders—the ones that make or break a business quarter. You’ll be working in our T&D (Transmission & Distribution) division, reporting directly into the Group Estimating Manager. Yes, the one who actually understands what you do.

This isn’t for someone who wants to hide behind spreadsheets. It’s for someone who wants their work to matter—someone who understands the difference between a number and a strategy.

What you’ll actually be doing (because we won’t insult you with buzzwords):

  • Own the estimation process. Not support it. Own it.
  • Lead commercial settlements, tender adjudications, bid reviews and handovers like someone who’s done this before (because, hopefully, you have).
  • Be the reason we get the numbers right, not the excuse when they’re wrong.
  • Build, coach, and support a team of estimators—because if you’re the smartest person in the room forever, you’ve failed.
  • Develop the estimation process for T&D into something our competitors would pay to copy.
  • Show up to client meetings and know your numbers better than they do.

You should apply if:

  • You’ve priced complex power or utilities work for a contractor before (T&D or something equally technical).
  • You know the difference between an optimistic number and a realistic one—and have the scars to prove it.
  • You’ve led a team or mentored junior estimators and secretly enjoyed it.
  • You get a weird satisfaction from well-structured commercial files.
  • You’re not allergic to clients, meetings, or telling people when they’re wrong (constructively).

What’s in it for you?

  • A seat at the table—not a folding chair in the corner.
  • The chance to shape how estimation is done in a company that’s growing, investing, and taking quality seriously.
  • A business that doesn’t think Estimating is just admin for Contracts.
  • A manager who has your back.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and the kind of work that sharpens your skills instead of dulling your spirit.

This job won’t suit someone who wants to clock in, price a few duct runs, and clock out.
It will suit someone who wants to lead, influence, and be heard.

Apply now, or at least ask the question. Worst case, you get clarity.
Best case? You get a job worth getting out of bed for.
