  • Ensure compliance with UK and Scottish environmental legislation and relevant consents, permits, and licences.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits, identify non-conformances, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring (e.g. noise, dust, water quality, ecology), and interpret and report results.
  • Liaise with regulators, statutory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Support training and toolbox talks to promote environmental awareness across project teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of environmental performance, incidents, and investigations.
  • Contribute to project sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar environmental role within the construction industry, ideally on infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Proven track record of managing environmental compliance on large-scale construction projects.
  • Knowledge of Scottish and UK environmental legislation and consenting frameworks, including EIA, SEPA regulations, and protected species licensing.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and regulatory requirements with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage with a range of stakeholders.
