Role Purpose
The Electrical QC Inspector ensures that electrical systems, components, and installations comply with safety and quality standards. The role includes conducting inspections, testing, and documenting results to verify that work meets project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
Key Functions:
- Inspection of Electrical Installations: Inspect electrical systems and installations during and after the construction process to ensure compliance with safety regulations, project specifications, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Quality Control Monitoring: Monitor and verify electrical works for quality control, ensuring all installations adhere to engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Testing and Verification: Perform a variety of electrical tests (e.g., continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, voltage tests) to verify the functionality and safety of installed systems.
- Documentation: Maintain and complete detailed inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and testing logs. Provide feedback to supervisors and project managers regarding quality-related issues.
- Non-Conformance Handling: Identify and report non-conformance items, working with relevant personnel to resolve issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Collaborate with Site Engineers: Work closely with engineers and contractors to resolve quality-related issues and ensure work is executed according to project specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work is performed safely, adhering to workplace safety standards and relevant electrical codes.
- Inspection of Materials: Inspect incoming electrical materials, ensuring that components meet specified standards and quality levels before being used in installations.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements in processes, materials, and quality control systems.
Necessary requirement of the Quality Control Inspector:
- A strong Trade/Construction background and/or a third level qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 year’s experience in a lead/managerial position.
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to adapt.
- Ability to work on own initiative is essential as well as taking direction where required.
- Ability to work in conjunction with others and be a team player.
- Commitment to working to the highest possible standards and delivering high quality results.
- Proficient in the use of MS office, BIM 360 Field Management or similar platforms.
- Data Centre, Pharma or similar experience.
Desired competencies / special roles requirements
- Experience in Electrical Testing & Commissioning
- CompEx Ex01-04 training
- Experience of working on HV/MV systems. ‘Authorised person’ experience
