EHS Advisor – Data Centre Project
Because Safety Isn’t a Box‑Ticking Exercise Here
If you’ve spent any time in construction or data centre builds, you already know this: some companies treat EHS as admin. A form to fill in, a site walk to “be seen,” a laminated poster that no one reads.
This isn’t one of those companies.
We’re looking for an EHS Advisor who wants to do the job properly—someone who cares about sending people home safe, improving how work gets done, and being part of a team that takes EHS seriously because quality projects depend on it.
You’ll work on major data centre projects where the pace is fast, the standards are high, and the expectation is that you’ll help us continually raise the bar. You won’t be fighting for recognition or trying to convince people that safety matters—they already know. Your role is to guide, improve, support and lead.
If that sounds like your kind of environment, keep reading.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the go‑to EHS professional on site, working alongside Project Managers, supervisors and subcontractors to make sure our management system is lived, not just filed.
On a typical week, you’ll:
- Be on the ground—visible, supportive and the first port of call for all things EHS.
- Lead by example, with a proactive approach rather than policing from the side-lines.
- Carry out audits and inspections, then work with the team on real, achievable corrective actions.
- Support and coach teams on RAMS, Site EHS Plans and statutory requirements.
- Report meaningful data on trends, KPIs and risks—not for paperwork’s sake, but to improve decisions.
- Make sure incidents are reported and investigated properly, with clear root causes and preventative actions.
- Provide training that actually sticks, using the right tools and methods.
- Keep documentation compliant and relevant, and ensure it’s communicated to everyone who needs it.
- Work across multiple projects where required, with some travel and occasional overnight stays.
This isn’t a desk job, and it isn’t an observer role. You’ll be embedded in the project team and have the autonomy to influence how the project operates.
What You Bring
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room—but you do need to be confident, credible and able to engage with people at all levels. You’ll thrive here if you’ve got:
- Experience in EHS roles on construction or mission‑critical projects.
- Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and industry best practice.
- The ability to spot problems early, communicate clearly and follow through.
- A calm, structured approach to incident investigation.
- The mindset of a coach and partner, not a clipboard‑carrier.
- A genuine interest in making systems and behaviours better.
Why This Job Is Worth Your Time
Because you’ll be working in an environment where:
- EHS isn’t an afterthought—it’s central to how projects are delivered.
- Your voice will be heard, and your expertise respected.
- You’ll work on some of the most exciting data centre builds in the industry.
- You’ll be part of a culture that values improvement over blame, and leadership over enforcement.
- You’ll have the support of an experienced EHS Manager and a wider, well‑structured team.
This role suits someone who wants both responsibility and the backing to do the job well.
If You’re Still Reading…
