Your New Role
Kirby Group Engineering are experiencing a period of significant growth and so our multidisciplinary engineering design and construction team is having to expand. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Technician who ideally has proven experience in the Power and Renewables (HV) industry to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects across the UK, supporting the design and delivery of high voltage electrical systems.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D desirable).
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, layout drawings, and civil interfaces.
- Familiarity with UK DNO/IDNO standards and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Experience with BIM/Revit or other 3D modelling software.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and utility mapping.
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics.
- Generate as-built drawings after project completion.
- Convert hand sketches or scanned images into digital CAD drawings.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes or interferences.
- Maintain drawing revision history and ensure version control.
- Assist in the preparation of tender drawings, shop drawings, and final documentation.
- Comply with internal CAD quality standards and drawing templates.
- Attend design review meetings and incorporate feedback promptly.
