Role Purpose
The CSA QC Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) quality control activities on site, ensuring works are delivered in full compliance with Kirby Group Engineering QA/QC systems, project specifications, client requirements, and statutory standards.
The role plays a critical part in construction completion, system readiness, and handover, particularly on complex, fast‑paced data centre projects where CSA quality underpins MEP and commissioning success.
Key Responsibilities CSA Quality Leadership
- Lead the CSA QC function on the project, acting as the primary quality focal point for all CSA works
- Coordinate CSA inspections across civil, structural, and architectural packages
- Supervise and support CSA QC Inspectors and ensure consistent inspection standards across areas
Inspection & Compliance
- Ensure CSA works comply with:
- Project drawings and specifications
- ITPs, QCPs, and approved method statements
- Client quality standards and inspection regimes
- Manage and execute:
- Hold point and witness inspections
- First‑of‑kind inspections
- Progressive and final walk‑downs
- Review and approve subcontractor quality documentation, including MIRs, IRs, and certificates
Non‑Conformance Management
- Lead CSA‑related NCR identification, tracking, root‑cause analysis, and close‑out
- Ensure timely resolution of defects and quality issues to prevent programme impact
- Work closely with construction teams to drive right‑first‑time delivery
Interface & Coordination
- Coordinate closely with:
- CSA Construction Managers
- MEP QC and Commissioning teams
- Engineering and BIM teams
- Ensure CSA areas are fully ready for MEP follow‑on works and commissioning activities
- Support system handover readiness and room completion milestones
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, auditable quality records using digital quality systems
- Produce regular CSA quality reports for the Project Quality Manager and client
- Support internal and client audits, inspections, and reviews
Continuous Improvement
- Promote a proactive quality culture across site teams
- Identify recurring quality risks and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Support lessons‑learned capture and quality improvement initiatives
Experience & Qualifications Essential
- Strong background in CSA construction quality control, ideally on data centre, pharmaceutical, or large industrial projects
- Demonstrable experience leading CSA QC activities on complex projects
- Solid understanding of:
- Concrete, structural steel, and architectural finishing works
- Fire stopping, partitions, raised floors, doors, glazing, and finishes
- Experience working with ITPs, NCRs, MIRs, and quality reporting systems
- Proven ability to interface with multiple subcontractors and disciplines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
