Data centres are unforgiving.
They reward planning, discipline and people who actually run sites properly.
They reward planning, discipline and people who actually run sites properly.
We’re looking for a CSA Project Manager to lead all Civil, Structural and Architectural works on a major data centre project in Milan. This is a senior, site‑based role for someone who understands that programmes matter, safety is non‑negotiable, and “we’ll sort it later” is not a strategy.
If you like ownership, clarity and well‑run jobs, you’ll feel at home here.
The Role
As the CSA Lead, you will represent the Project Manager and the business on site. You will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, execution and close‑out of the CSA scope, from pre‑mobilisation through commissioning and demobilisation.
This is a hands‑on leadership role. You are there to make sure the job moves forward, safely and efficiently, every day.
Key Responsibilities
Project Start‑Up
You will:
- Support the Project Manager in developing the construction programme, short‑term look‑ahead plans, equipment schedules and material strategies.
- Visit site early and develop a structured site establishment and mobilisation plan.
- Become fully familiar with project change management and validation processes.
- Put the site safety starter pack in place and actively contribute to the HSEQ plan.
- Review construction drawings, method statements and risk assessments, ensuring they are suitable before work starts.
- Assist in benchmarking installation practices and quality procedures from the outset.
Project Delivery
You will:
- Drive productivity across all CSA activities.
- Develop daily key action plans covering HSEQ, productivity and people management.
- Produce short‑term programmes aligned with the master schedule and keep them current.
- Mark up and report on the master programme weekly, issuing updates to the Project Manager.
- Manage CSA subcontractors to ensure labour is productive, workfaces are ready and supervision is effective.
- Chair subcontractor meetings and maintain a detailed and accurate site diary.
- Ensure all variations are identified and managed in conjunction with the Project Manager and QS.
- Expedite key equipment and material deliveries to avoid programme impact.
People and Coordination
You will:
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure workfaces are available and properly sequenced.
- Coordinate closely with client teams to align building and services activities.
- Work alongside M&E supervisors to ensure effective cross‑discipline coordination.
- Integrate with internal and external supervisors to manage interfaces between trades.
- Take ownership of site issues and drive practical solutions with the Project Manager.
Safety
You will:
- Ensure inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings are carried out correctly and consistently.
- Maintain plant logs and ensure weekly safety checks are completed.
- Enforce the use of PPE and adherence to agreed method statements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including permits, audits and site walkarounds.
- Carry out daily site walkarounds with a clear “don’t walk by” approach.
- Promote strong safety behaviours and uphold site Golden Rules.
Quality
You will:
- Plan and coordinate the delivery of materials and plant to suit the programme.
- Mark up drawings in conjunction with inspection and testing activities.
- Enforce the inspection and test plan, snagging early and offering completed works to the client at the correct stage.
- Drive a zero‑snag approach at handover.
- Manage free‑issue equipment, ensuring it is checked, protected and signed off correctly for payment.
Close‑Out
You will:
- Ensure all site safety devices are tested and proven.
- Confirm that all life‑safety systems are complete and fully certified.
- Deliver accurate final marked‑up drawings.
- Support site demobilisation, including labour, plant, materials and site establishment.
- Ensure all statutory notices, schematics and documentation are in place in line with the project completion checklist.
About You
You will typically have:
- Strong experience managing CSA works on complex construction projects, ideally data centres or similarly technical environments.
- Proven ability to lead site teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
- A practical, detail‑focused approach to planning, safety and quality.
- Confidence dealing with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to take responsibility, make decisions and keep momentum on site.
Why Join?
- A high‑profile data centre project in Milan.
- A role with real ownership and authority on site.
- A professional team that values planning, safety and quality over noise.
- Clear expectations and support to deliver the job properly.
If you take pride in organised sites, clean handovers and projects that run the way they should, this is a role worth having a conversation about.
