Role Purpose
As the Project Quality Control Lead you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise with quality control deliverables and project conformance requirements by planning and collaborating with project teams to deliver first of kinds, system walkdowns and achieve system turnover.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead by example in the areas of ethics, EHS, cultural sensitivity, diversity, teamwork, quality culture and behaviors.
- Establish close working relationships with cross functional departments (Planning, Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, EHS, etc.) including supply chain and client stakeholders.
- Develop & maintain Project Quality plans and Inspection and Test plans to ensure project compliance. Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the quality program and update as required
- Plan system walkdowns inline with program dates and lead a team of Inspectors
- Define and develop the system limits and/or system boundaries for test pack with agreed contents including tracking of each test pac
- Review construction methodology for offsite manufacturing (OSM) capabilities and develop inspection matrix for offsite and onsite inspections.
- Oversee completion of inspection checklists and snag closure in advance of system W1/W2/W3 walkdowns with documented acceptance by relevant stakeholders.
- Review defects / punch-lists / snags across projects, reporting on close-out performance and identifying emerging trends for areas of concern
- Implement a First of Kind / Benchmark program and monitor installations & progress of completion.
- Be proactive in identifying areas of improvement and create suitable action plans to improve project performance (Snags, Checklists, Supply chain, Trends, Risk, etc.)
- Provide weekly & monthly reports on Quality Control Program performance.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Construction management, or equivalent
- 5 years Quality management experience preferably in a Data Centre environment
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards applicable to the contract scope of works
- Ability to lead root cause analysis techniques and implement corrective actions
- ISO9001 Internal / Lead auditor certification and experience.
- Knowledge to scope, plan and execute risk review
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Provide technical and professional guidance for teams
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational / planning skills
Able to implement quality control process and procedures
Desired competencies / special role requirements
- Willingness to travel
- Data Centre experience preferred
- Preferable from a trade’s background / trades experience
