Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for renewable energy? Join our dynamic Power and Renewables Business Unit in Scotland as an HR Officer, where you’ll play a vital role in both HR operations and recruitment. This role is perfect for someone with a strong HR generalist background and a flair for talent acquisition.
What You’ll Do: General HR Responsibilities (50%)
- Employee Relations: Serve as the go-to HR expert for the Power and Renewables business unit, advising managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- HR Policy Implementation: Ensure consistent application of company HR policies, and customize these to reflect Scottish regulations and business needs.
- Employee Development: Facilitate employee training programs and support career development through close collaboration with the Learning and Development team.
- Performance Management: Assist in performance reviews, coach managers on performance objectives, and handle complex employee relations issues.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records, analyze key HR metrics, and manage HR data systems in compliance with GDPR and company policies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present HR reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and insights.
Recruitment Responsibilities (50%)
- Recruitment Strategy & Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with the UK Talent Acquisition Lead and hiring managers to create and execute recruitment strategies, sourcing top talent using various channels.
- Onboarding: Ensure smooth onboarding experiences, tailoring plans to help new hires integrate effectively.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Advocate for diverse hiring practices and work with HR and D&I teams to strengthen our commitment to inclusion.
- Employer Branding: Represent the company at career fairs and events, helping to position us as an employer of choice in the renewable energy sector.
- Recruitment Metrics: Track key hiring metrics, providing reports and insights to continually improve our processes.
HR Compliance Lead for Scotland
- Compliance Oversight: Lead HR compliance efforts for Kirby employees and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and employment standards across our Scottish Power and Renewables sites.
- Site HR Audits: Conduct HR audits and prepare detailed reports to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Training & Induction: Ensure that both Kirby and subcontractor employees complete mandatory compliance training and site-specific inductions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, with a focus on Scotland.
- Experience in both HR generalist and recruitment roles, ideally within the engineering or energy sectors.
- Expertise in HR compliance for subcontractor and direct employees, particularly in construction and renewables.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at problem-solving.
- Proficiency with HRIS and recruitment software.
