Financial Accountant / Limerick

Role Purpose
As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for all day to day financial activities within the business, and support senior members of the finance team across a number of areas. There is high potential for growth and progression within this role. 

Key Functions of the Financial Accountant
·       Recording of daily cash in/out from our various bank accounts, and subsequent preparation of daily cash flow projections
·       Quarterly management accounts preparation for review by senior finance staff prior to being presented to the Board of Directors.
·       Liaising with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Payroll on a daily basis to resolve any queries they may have.
·       Preparation of Revenue returns in the various countries that we operate in, ensuring that we are compliant with all local tax laws and regulations
·       Preparing year end accounts and facilitating our external auditors with all their queries. 
·       Attending project review meetings for our various business units. 
·       Compiling monthly recurring works cost vs revenue summaries 
·       General Ledger accounting/Intercompany transactional analysis, and regular reconciliation of all Balance Sheet items. 
·       Monthly bank reconciliations
·       CSO Returns
·       Ad-hoc finance duties as required
·       Attend monthly meetings with AR to analyse Aged Debtors schedules, and help to resolve any older issues.
·       Build strong inter-departmental relationships. Communication is key so it’s important to get to know the various stakeholders. 
·       Support continuous improvement culture
·       Work harmoniously as a member of the broader finance team, and contribute to a positive team environment at all times. 

Financial Accountant Responsibilities

·       Deadlines are a major part of the role, and you will be responsible for meeting those deadlines, whether they be internal (management accounts, reports etc) or external (Vat returns/Intrastat etc)
·       Must ensure that all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or payroll queries are resolved, and seek further advice if necessary from the other members of the team.
·       Responsible for analysing data, and ensuring that all information on our various ledgers is accurate and concise.
·       Be available for our annual year end audit in February each year to provide our external auditors with any reconciliations that they require, and to also do system walkthroughs.
·       Communication is essential at all times. Accountants are very much the go-to people for a lot of departments within the business, and will need to proactively give support when required.
·       A high level of initiative is expected in this role.
·       Email etiquette is very important – you are expected to be professional in all your dealings with internal & external persons.

·       Suggestions on improving internal processes are always welcome.
·       Working within the Finance team, you are expected to keep all information pertaining to the company’s accounts/records private and confidential.
·       You will proactively and vigilantly keep information secure and fully comply with the Kirby Information Security Management System (ISMS).
