Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Busbar Specialist to join our dynamic team responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of busbar systems within our hyperscale data centre projects. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality and safety in delivering efficient power distribution solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering:
Develop detailed designs and layouts for busbar systems used in large-scale data centre electrical infrastructure.
Conduct electrical load calculations and ensure busbar systems are compliant with international standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ANSI).
Coordinate with the electrical engineering team to integrate busbar systems into the overall power distribution architecture.
- Installation Oversight:
Supervise and ensure the correct installation of busbar systems on-site, ensuring compliance with project designs, technical specifications, and safety standards.
Perform regular site inspections to monitor the progress of busbar installations, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.
Collaborate with subcontractors and installation teams to provide technical guidance and problem-solving expertise.
- Testing and Commissioning:
Oversee the testing and commissioning of busbar systems, ensuring all components function correctly and meet the required specifications.
Identify and troubleshoot any issues during testing and ensure timely rectifications.
Prepare detailed reports on testing results, ensuring adherence to project timelines and client requirements.
- Maintenance and Support:
Provide ongoing support for the maintenance of busbar systems, ensuring optimal performance during operation.
Work with the operations and maintenance team to develop preventive maintenance schedules and address any issues related to wear and tear.
- Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure that all documentation, including technical drawings, safety reports, and as-built drawings, are accurate and up-to-date.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors to ensure busbar installations are in accordance with regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in busbar systems for large-scale construction projects, preferably within hyperscale data centres or other critical infrastructure environments.
- In-depth knowledge of busbar design, installation, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, and high-voltage/low-voltage systems.
- Experience working with relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP) for design and simulation.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel to various construction sites as required.

Comprehensive knowledge of busbar systems, electrical codes, and regulations, along with experience in handling high-voltage/low-voltage busbar systems.
